Types of LPG gas tank installations we provide
Typically there are only two types of installation for LPG gas storage tanks. Government regulations mean all LPG tanks will need to be installed at least 3m outside of the home or from the nearest building.
Both types of installation are suitable for domestic or commercial applications. Some underground tanks can also be horizontal or vertical in nature.
1. Above-ground LPG gas tank
Whilst being the easiest to install, above-ground tanks can be unsightly and prone to weather damage. As a result they are less popular than underground tanks.

2. Below-ground LPG gas tank
More popular, but more costly, below-ground tanks are out of sight, out of mind. Consequently, they’re perfect if you’re short on space or don’t want to spoil the view.

Frequently asked questions
The size of the gas tank you need will be dependent on 2 factors. Those being the size of your property and the projected daily quantity of gas you will use. Tankology can install anything from a few hundred litres to thousands of litre tanks.
All the liquefied natural gas tanks we install are fitted with a monitoring system that will let you know how much gas is left in your tank. Once close to empty to can call your supply company to fill it back up.
Your choices for the type of gas are between propane and butane. Each gas has its own benefit. For example, butane liquefies at a low temperature which makes it easier to contain.
Propane produces more heat, whilst butane has a higher combustion temperature. Most people opt for butane in the UK as it more than 10% more efficient.
